Buck Improvements

Memphis....

Since you asked.....long pulls on the main would certainly be refreshing....
Though strong pulls in no way have any what so ever connection to safety .....quite the opposite can occur with a strong back spring snapping down and taking a chunk or worse slicing to the bone. And I’ll take a slipjoints either way..strong or mild pull.

As far as quality concerns now how long has Buck been making knives? And nary a burp of slowing down.

Fishhunter could not have said it better..
Good point. I had originally included a half stop in my wish list, and that was part of my original reference to safety. I pulled that out after considering that, I don't think, Buck ever offered one in the past. Still I think a half stop would be awesome if that added it. Maybe just a little more snap. No bear traps or nail busters though.

Buck 300's used to have the perfect walk and talk. The snap was excellent. The spring tension just right. No nail breakers, but strong enough. My 302's are good enough. However, my recent vintage 301 is weak and mushy. I also hope Buck does something about this and have said so many times, here.

I also hope to see a return of the long pull and colors.

In my experience, a coping blade is so much handier than the spey blade. But then it would be a whittler instead of a stockman. A sheepsfoot, or wharnclif would be fine too. But I see no reason for a spey blade, and very little reason for a pen blade.
There has been some change to the spey blade. Over the years it became a little narrower with a more defined point. In some respects it now looks more like a pen blade. Of course one question is, "How many people use that blade for its original purpose?'
