Buck is dishonest?

The only thing your missing, is that some folks just troll forums looking for places to interject comments like that to stir stuff up for their own entertainment.

His comments are mostly BS.

This sort of "tabloid title" should not even be posted. This is garbage. Like other major cutlery manufacturers, Buck offers various steels at various price points and their pricing reflects the cost of the materials. Dishonesty would be the case if they falsified that a given blade steel was something different than actually used. I resent that this post was even made as someone who does not take the time to read it may get a false impression that Buck Knives has been dishonest.

I see you are worried about people who "do not take time to read". Rather than worring about people who don't read, or can't comprehend, why not take this thread as a hint and a tip to go and defend Buck against those who actually do take time to belittle and besmirch, in writing, Buck Knife Company, as has been done, and go forth and defend Buck, as I, and others have, and continue to do.

They are being somewhat assailed, and I figure, the Buck Forum would be a place to really rally the troops.

You cannot educate the uneducatable....you could explain and prove....they will always be ignorant .

I bought m first Buck knife in 1967.

Over the course of 40 years, I've used and occasionally abuse a Buck knife or two. One had to be sent back to them for repair because of my own bone headed action. I made this clear to Buck, and wrote that I would forward the funds to cover the repair soon as they sent me an estimate of the repair.

The knife came back to me with a new blade installed, at no charge.

I've never found a knife company that is more reliable, and customer supportive than Buck. To imply they are dishonest because of the weak and illogical arguments that are spouted here is a shame!

Having met some of the Buck family at the blade shows over the years in the past, a nicer bunch of poeple just doesn't exist.

NO ,Buck is the best in the business, the company and the name can't be tarnished by crap like that posted on a forum, because anybody who has ever called on Buck for anything has quickly learned that Buck Knives is a stand alone company.Thats all i got to say about that.lol

For all you guys that weren't able to attend the celebration at the factory this summer, let me tell you if you had been "there" you would of had the absolute"proof" of what the guys above are speaking about. I have never been a groupy of anything but the flag and the Good Lord but dang it I am almost ready to get a BUCK knife tatoo.......it is an "ole time business" making money yes but earning respect and making friends; always. My 2 cents 300$s.

Most of the negative comments in that thread were from youngsters who decided that they were the holders of all knowledge (not an unusual attribute in the young) and that anyone who disagreed with their assessments of correctness was either ignorant, a fanboy, or dishonest. At least one of them is on my permanent ignore list because I have found him to deliberately misinterpret a person's answer in order to further his own argument. That makes him a troll in my book.

I also have had Buck Knives since the 60's.
A new 301 is in my current EDC rotation. (The blade is hardened to 59.7 HRC. YOWSER!)

To put it plainly, a dishonest business probably wouldn't have lasted over a 100 years, don't you think?

i wanted to but did not...

...I didn't say nuthin' after Trax and decaf had their say...I jus' grabbed the pennies...heh heh heh...

Same story w/ me. Except I'm sure that my abuse was worse than yours. They even polished the hammer dings out of the bolsters. It was a shock how much nicer the new blade was than the old one.

 to Buck.

Hi All,

Well what can I say...this is America and even ignorant fools have a voice. We all know that on this forum "Buck Knives Inc" is our favorite knife manufacturer. They are the most honest company I have ever done business with.

The heat treating that BKI puts on their blades set's them apart from the rest (always has). If some fool out there is spewing BS about the quality in Buck's steel it only shows that they are truly ignorant. I can only suggest that they put their money where their mouth is and actually buy and use a Buck knife. Enough said on this topic my Buck Brothers. I will have a few Buck knives under the tree this year and can't wait for Christmas day...420HC is one sweet steel on a Buck knife;)

That is libel. If you ask me he should've been banned for saying that. He can explain his reasoning all his wants, but he has to pick his words, he can't redefine words.

Well, some of the Buck hype is misleading. I had a salesman tell me my first 110 would be '... the last knife I'd ever need!'. Wrong. It's been lost since Ford was prez - and I have bought a bucket of 110s since then - with more, hopefully, in my future. Ha!

I don't think that's what the guy was talking about. He's just another uninformed misfit. Sad. However you rate price/performance, Buck products are a value.

I am not really a Buck guy, as a recent thread will show I just recently started buying them. The reason I started to get into them was the value, U.S. made products with a solid warranty for less than 50 bucks. It doesn't get much better than that. The individual in question is uneducated and mis-informed.

That is putting it very diplomatically. I would have described him as a lying cretin, but that is just me.
