Buck is dishonest?

I've bought a lot of Bucks over the years, but only recently thought of them as collections. They have always more than lived up to expectation. More companies should follow their example. Just my 3 cents.

I dont even want to make a note about BUCK dishonesty. Is useless!!!All those people got contact with BUCK in a certain way, they know that. But I like to post a link, about that low quality, cheap 420HC steel.I hope that person, who posted the thread will read this one as well. Here is the link, enjoy!!

Oddly, that review of the C R "Green Beret" in S30V vs a used/abused 119 in 420HC was more an indictment of the S30V than the praise for 420HC. Buck's 'regular' SS blade metal is an economical and fair choice for production knives. I think S30V, properly heat-treated, is a far better lasting/performing edge metal, too - of course!

Interesting how an inexpensive 119 behaves compared to big dollar knives. You might be able to field dress a Studebaker with a Busse knife - but I'd stop at a Yugo with a 119. Of course, the 119 runs, at least at Wally World, about what a Busse's s/h does!

Buck is one of the best knife companies out there and their warranty is probably the best in the business. Anyone bad mouthing Buck is:jerkit:

I bought m first Buck knife in 1967.

Over the course of 40 years, I've used and occasionally abuse a Buck knife or two. One had to be sent back to them for repair because of my own bone headed action. I made this clear to Buck, and wrote that I would forward the funds to cover the repair soon as they sent me an estimate of the repair.

The knife came back to me with a new blade installed, at no charge.

I've never found a knife company that is more reliable, and customer supportive than Buck. To imply they are dishonest because of the weak and illogical arguments that are spouted here is a shame!

Having met some of the Buck family at the blade shows over the years in the past, a nicer bunch of poeple just doesn't exist.

Very well put jackknife!

I broke a tip on one of my 110's about a year ago because I was prying with it and I told them I shouldn't have been. I asked if they would re-profile it for me and let me know the cost. They sent me a brand new knife.

They are good people.

This thread, and the linked thread are crap.

A company that will tell it's consumers what type of materials are used in the construction of it's products is dishonest ?

This thread is proof an educated consumer is the best customer.

Same crap is in Whine & Cheese now.

Some folks just like showing off their ignorance.

I just replyed for that post,if any one of you interested here is the reply:

With my all respect:You dont have a clue, what you are talking about!!!!!
I could tell you ,for example get a personal experience first.Or just try to find some review on web.The ordinary people(Users and collectors) can tell you the quality and longevity, and useability of BUCK products!
420HC with proper heat treatment, and a superb edge geometry(BUCK has both) can outperform many ,let's say wonder SS.
Finaly to highlight a small fact about people" dont want to learn "how to sharpen a better steel. When you are out there ,and during the job you have to resharpen your knife.Wich steel you would prefer, the one you can done with a small piece of stone, within no time.Or the one ,that requires a complett sharpening kit.
If you dont like the design of the BUCK Knives, that is your personal taste.
And the last.I'm really sad you wont buy a BUCK!But do not worry we are many who did,and will in the future!
Please!I kindly ask you get a personal exp,and stop posting your personal opinion as a FACT!!!!

For all you guys that weren't able to attend the celebration at the factory this summer, let me tell you if you had been "there" you would of had the absolute"proof" of what the guys above are speaking about. I have never been a groupy of anything but the flag and the Good Lord but dang it I am almost ready to get a BUCK knife tatoo.......it is an "ole time business" making money yes but earning respect and making friends; always. My 2 cents 300$s.

And it was great fun putting faces to familiar names! ;)
