Buck just lost a life long customer

Yeah folks, I'm not blaming Buck at all. Dad was just doing what his paperwork said to do. He just didn't know. He's still crabby about the whole thing and I think once it settles with him he'll be just fine. He's just very set in his ways when it comes to stuff like this.

Did your dad get a receipt or insure them with the post office? If so has he filed a claim? There is absolutely no way this is Buck's fault.

Could be. But then wouldn't the title of this thread have been "A life long customer just lost Buck"? :p

I think the solution is pretty obvious: custom shop 112 for Christmas! Be a hero, and maybe get the sentimental, pocket worn duplicate if it ever makes it back in the mail!

If you need parts for your Ford model T, don't go to the Piquette Road manufacturing plant....they left there in 1911.

Buck sent an email to everyone who bought a knife in 1992 informing them they moved to Post falls. Since your Father doesn't own a computer he probably didn't receive the email.

I don't see why you can't figure out were the package is with the tracking #. The post office has been using GPS since the beginning of the summer months. They should be able to give you a location to the point that that package was scanned. If it was "UNDELIVERED" it should be RTS if it had a return address on it. Sometimes the RTS takes a while. Just saying.

Buck knives inc.is a stand alone company, let them now what took place, ill bet my last dollar they help you out ,in fact I know they will.

Bushrunner,

Here's the deal. We all understand your point. But, some folks join up BF and get their kicks causing trouble or running scams so some folks like me are necessary to try and keep things 'right'. There is a member of this forum (Wolf-man-12), a Buck knife honorable guy, who is trying to help you make your dad happy. Its likely the only thing any of us can do. BUT, I think you need to contact him and have a conversation or two to show your a honorable guy. Then let him know your contact info and you give him your dad's mailing info. You can contact your dad and tell him the Buck knife believers feel for him and one of them has stepped up to help. We will hold one of our own accountable to do right. Do that and see if some relief of bad feelings will be abated. I wish you were where you could have known about the mailing and gotten to postal people sooner but that is another issue.

Buck culture is spoken on this forum and many here consider people that talk with them here, an they have never met in person , as real friends. We would like you and thru you your dad, to be one of those.

Just heard from Bushrunner and he said he was going to close this thread down as it was not worth it to him or his "Dad" !!!
Nice ""GUY""..!! LOL

Look folks, I didn't post looking for a handout or freebies but to vent so to say... If any of you knew my dad you would understand. He has absolutely no interest in anything electronic whatsoever. When he mails something he wraps it up, puts a fistfull of stamps on it and puts it in the mail. So when he sends his knives off to get fixed. He gets that paperwork for that particular knife, gets the address and mails it! It's what he has always done. My dad is not a stupid man nor ignorant, just very old fashioned. So I apologize to all of you if my actions here in any way make it look like I was trying to pull shenanigans or look for free stuff. I respectfully decline any offers for anything.
