Have liked the looks of the Buck Kalinga's for a long time but just didn't like them enough to buy one; finally said to Hell with it and pulled the trigger on a folding one this morning. What can I expect? Have a number of Bucks but nothing like a Kalinga, Is it a cndidate for edc? Of course none of this matters I guess since I bought it anyway. will give impressions after I get it.

If you mean the wood and brass folder, I had one and sold it. It's a nice knife and very good looking, but I didn't like it's linerlock, because I felt it was a bit thin and not as tight as many others I have. Could have just been my example wasn't fitted really well.
It also has no clip and comes with a very nice leather sheath, but I felt it made the knife rather bulky on belt. Nice blade for sure but it wasn't for me.

Nice knife, mine locks up solid and has held up good under use. I do not edc mine with the exception of hunting season.

I understand Jill's point on the liner lock. Proportionately, it does look thin, as does my 277, but I have never heard of a failure on either.

I love mine definitely worth the price of entry for me.

I don't however wear belt sheaths for large folders I just toss em in my pocket. For me there is something reassuring about a substantial feeling knife in my pocket /shrug
