I have a set of Buck kitchen knives my parents gave to me for a wedding present in
1980. The handles look like they are some sort of fiber reinforced resin and they
came in a wood display case. I've never seen these anywhere else and would like to know if anyone can tell me anything about them.

Mr. Houser answered my inquiry in the General Forum and in response to an email. Thank you. My set does not have the guard, just metal on each end of the handle. I have used them for 20 years and they are in nice shape, but I wouldn't say mint. I picked up a brand new set of Chicago Cutlery ones about the same size at a junk store for $6 and so I am retiring my nice set of Buck's to take better care of them.
