My wife's boss/broker's had her 50'th b-day and her husband Earl threw her a surprise party. There were lots of friends, family, and co-workers invited.
My wife said I should give Sheri a Buck knife since she likes to go camping
and hunting so much, so I wrapped up a 112 french green -silver bolsters
for Sheri. She opened all her gifts which consisted of gag gifts, art work,
quilts, blankets and so on, then she got to mine and when she took the 112
out of the box she lit up like a christmas tree, that 112 got everyone's attention, I thought it was pretty great how a knife could draw so much interest, everyone wanted to hold it.

We'll my family went camping last weekend end with Sheri and Earl and they
both commented about the 112 numerous times and sheri had her 112 with her, well it happend to be Earl's b-day sunday so I thought I'd give him buck's bait knife along with the 6inch and 9inch fillet, well it put a big smile
on everyone's face when he opened them, he wanted to use them so bad once he opened them we had to head to the lake and catch some trout so he could fillet them, I took my shot gun incase we came upon any grouse, well we did and my daughter get her first grouse, we ended up with 6 of them, this made Earl happy , he used his fillet knives and the bait knife to cut up the grouse.

I was given a NS bolstered, damacus 'custom' blade, elephant ivory, scrimshawed handled 112...It had my stage name 'Cotton Mouth' a harmoncia and KathyJo with a snake curling around the harp on the handle...This was 6 or 7 years ago...At the time I did not collect ANY knives and in fact only had a few fishing bait/fillet knives none of them Bucks...I had NO idea how special, rare and valuable it was as a collector knife but it was VERRRRY special to me because of who did the scrimshawing...And that it had the things that were importent to me,my honey bunch and my music on it.. He had all his tools and supplies stolen years ago and stoped doing any work at all because of the theft. This was a labor of love both for me and his art..I told him it wouldnt mean much if it didnt have his 'Sratchin' on it so for the first time since he was ripped off he scrimshawed something..Thanks again Bro I know it was a labor of love!

Thanks for pickin' me Karen, the people who all chipped in, whether by money, materials, time, or even words of encouragement, they were the ones who did it all.

I just put an idea out to the community here and as usual they responded with all they had, my many thanks to all of them.

334dave, sorry about gettin' back so late, the knife arrived last week I took it out put a nice aggresive edge on it and then presented to my daughter to keep in her car for Seatbelt slicin' in the event of an accident.

Thanks again for the contest and even more for pickin' my story, hopefully she'll never have to use it.
