Buck knife Inventory …..how many do you have

Everyone around me knows I'm a Buck nut. I give a pile of them away every year as gifts. Try to encourage collecting in the youngers while making sure they have quality blades.
Searched out and bought up several of the old Cub-Lite and Scout-Lites for the nephews in the scouts.

Here's about a hunerdfidy I gave away a couple of years ago.

I need J J Hubbard to do an engraving on a 50th 112 for me. My older brother is 50 this year too, but don't see an engraving option on them yet.
It's too much trouble for me to engrave them with my big CO2 laser.

I actually began an inventory of mine five or six years ago. I add to it as I buy new ones and subtract from it as I give away some. What I haven’t done is count them all up (I start a new sheet for each year). I’ll take a SWAG and say 80 (when I get home Friday I’m going to add them all up). OH

This question comes up every other year or so. I've been around long enough to bear witness against a number of the above souls to say they are trying to appear humble. I have only bought one buck knife for myself in last four years, don't faint it was a NIB 120. Oh, I did buy two dozen orange single blades and had local scout troop number engraved on the blade and gave them to the scoutmaster to give out as awards or as the need arose for any scout that didn't have a knife. Today is national scout day just so you know.

I myself don't have even 500, but know some who do. I have likely 'handled' more than 10,000 over the years. Many of which I wish I had but hope at least they rest in good hands

This thread scares me. I'm collecting knives for more than 35 years. Startet with Brands like Benchmade, Calico Forge, SOG and Strider, got hooked on Spyderco (240 pieces) found Bark River and Blackjack (82 pieces) and just discovered Bucks a few weeks ago as I found my 1995 110 that I bought for fishing and thought that I had lost it years ago. I was too young to appreciate that timeless, old fashioned look but now I turn 50 this year (just like the 112) and I can't get enough of those classic Bucks. I now own maybe around 10, but I guess this will end bad. Very, very bad.

My wife use to think something was wrong with me for having so many knives. Now she has her collection. It is definitely quite the hobby. Some would call it a sickness but they are not on Blade Forum. 😉 I have six new Bucks coming in the mail soon. One of them will surely be my last Buck knife.

I've been into knives for 47 years now but only last year I bought my first 110

I sold a lot of my newer knives to start collecting the vintage or special folding hunters.
The thing is they are so hard to come by and expensive in Europe that I now only have 10.
But that combined with my other vintage knives makes a nice little collection.
Even if I had the money I wouldn't feel comfortable with having a 500+ knives collection.
That's just not who I am.

If I would live in the US I would buy more of the 'special edition/custom' 110 and 112's.
The important thing is we all share the same love for Buck Knives :) no matter the numbers.

Took an inventory and cateloged everything on computer… 45 Buck knives in total…
. Most all are new in box.
seemed excessive to me,…like my buying is out of control …and I need to stop

was curious what others have in number of bucks….to cmpare…
see where I stand….ha

Out of control? Methinks that sounds like a good start!

(I have no idea how many Bucks I have)

HOLY SCHNEIKIES! I've never seen that many Buck 110 LT & 112 LTs on one place at one time! Woo-hoo!

Collecting or hording?

There was a time when I would buy everything I seen. I used to consider them as tools for facilitating my collecting. I would buy and flip and use the money to buy others. Yeah... I was one of those guys. But in my defense, I typically bought low and sold at market value, if that makes you feel better. :)

Now I try to limit my collection to knives that I can tastefully display in my home or office. It doesn't always work out that way though. I've purchased many that I thought would be great in a display only to find out I was wrong.

I've also bought many I thought would make good EDC knives only to find out I was wrong again. So I have a few that don't carry well for me, or display well for me that I need to get rid of. One of these days I'll find the time to make a list. I also have a mess of users and back-ups that I'll never part with for fear I won't be able to replace them. Until then, I guess I'm a hoarder.
