Buck knife used by Manson family?

It doesn't look like a one 112 to me.. The front bolster doesn't look like a 112 Bolster...
Now a 110, who knows???? I can't tell.... What do I know....

I thought the Manson Family's murder weapons were thrown out a car window and were never recovered?

Thats true, but this one was left over, someone most likely dropped it, whose to say that it was even one of the manson family knives? It could very be one of the victims knives trying to use it for self defence and it getting knocked out of their hand and onto the couch. Whose to say for sure, wanna call charles up and see what he says?

I don't think it was a Buck only because in the book there was reference to the knives breaking in the first killing and I've never seen a Buck that flimsy.

Don't know where I read it as it was a while ago but I do remember reading that Charlie gave all the family members that went on the "Tate mission" a Buck 110.

I followed that case for a long time. I read , or heard somewhere, that Charlie specifically ordered family memberss to get Buck knives when they could. I also heard/read, that some of the business burlaries that the family comitted, netted many Buck knives. In 1969, everyone i knew, had a Buck knife (110/112).Wish i could remember my sources. I know of one local stabbing. A Buck 110 was used, the tip broke off. The police chief still has it.

The other night I watched "Manson" on the History Channel (about the Charles Manson family murders in 1969), then I purchased the book "Helter Skelter" which is an account of the Manson family written by the lead prosecutor in the case, Vincent Bugliosi. In this book is a photo of one of the knives used in the Tate murders, and the caption states it is a Buck knife, but gives no further details. Does anyone know what model of Buck knife was used? To me, based on the photo, it looks like a Buck 110. I'm not trying to be morbid or perverse. I'm just curious.

Ozo,

I see this is your first Bladeforums post. And in most of the discussions posting your knowledge is appreciated and helpful. But, in a sort of 'way of the world', we seldom go back and pull up 4 or 5 year old or even older threads and post comments to them. It is best just to take the question of the old thread and you create a new one by posting some background info and then answering the question.
I best can explain it by saying "it's just the way it's done." New members who are also inclined to buy, sell or want knives need to carefully read the forum rules if you haven't done so to avoid conflict.
