It was a Buck fixed blade, perhaps a #184. This model seems to be used extensively in movies, T.V., and on the covers of true crime books, to represent murder weapons, even if it wasn't the actual weapon used.

Has anyone else noticed the awkward reverse grip that "bad guys" use to stab people in movies?

And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold the great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads...And His tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth; and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Hrmm, mebbe its for the "people are being hunted" effect. You don't see people using ka-bars are anything in that movie... just hunting knives...
by the way, anyone seen ravenous? that movie is hilarious because the plot is so ridiculous and the soundtrack makes it seem funny.
I believe that the knife used in the Scream movies is a Buck General. As a matter of fact, my girlfriend sold the knife to the prop-guy for Scream 3! Pretty cool. Now I'll hafta go see the movie hoping that if I look REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY closely, I'll be able to see my girl's fingerprints on the knife!! WHOOHOO.... Sorry, it's late and my brains kinda in "stupid" mode.
