I know Buck puts year marks on their knives. What does the anvil mean? My 303 Cadet has "Buck, pic of an anvil, USA" on the blade. I've looked high and low for a list of what each year mark means...does anyone know where to find this? Thanks in advance
Hello rdsaylr, and WELCOME to the forums. We really don't mind repeat questions here as there is always someone new dropping in looking for info. In case you need to look up any of the other marks, take a look at this page from the BUCK factory web site. It shows all the marks from 1986 through 2006. Just keep in mind as I'm sure you read in my other post, that BUCK changed the year mark to an anvil in 2002 for their 100th Anniversary. Also keep in mind, that in 2002 they did not stamp the model #'s on the knives.
In case you are beginning to develop, (or already have ) a case of BUCK FEVER you might want to look at my pages for the Buck Collector's Club, or click here to see what the factory has to say about the club
I find it interesting that the chart shown in the "The Story of Buck Knives" is incorrect from about 1991 on... Maybe just a typo, one symbol was left out and it shifted everything off one year.
