Buck Knives will move from their present location in El Cajon, CA to Post Falls, Idaho sometime during the first quarter of 2004. In a very recent press release, Buck CEO and president CJ Buck stated:

The simple truth is that we can continue to achieve and surpass our goals more effectively in Idaho than in California. The major savings we can achieve in Idaho - utility rates, workers comp, wages and benefits all much lower - are hard to ignore in an increasingly competitive marketplace, especially when we plan to continue producing knives in the USA

Best wishes to our friends at Buck for the upcoming move

I can understand all the reasons for the move. But they could have done all that, and not have such a long trip if they just moved to Cedar City, UT.:D

Sounds like another company leaving Cali, because the state's so screwed up...Good for Buck. We'll still get an excellent, made in the USA product, and Buck will remain in business without Cali killing it off.

Yep, they are leaving while they still can. And not only are they leaving, but they are managing to drag Paul Bos along with them.:D

From what I understand, Bos will still be doing his commercial HT [e.g. for knifemakers]...which is also good!

I will be sure to buy more Buck's from now on.

This is a bold move on their part and I don't blame them a bit - Of course when alifornia is losing companies faster than they're gaining illegal aliens they'll just blame it on the "greedy" Republican and Rush Limbaugh...
