Buck Knives for sale thread

I like having a seperate forum for Bucks, I just wish there were more Buck knives for sale here. I think in the Buck Forum we've got way more buyers, than sellers. I know I'm making an effort to try to sell knives here, before sending them to fleabay, but usually an email or conversation nets a sale before a Buck makes it to any other form of advertisement.
I like Busse's, and have bought and sold them on the Forum. I don't always like reading 3 pages of posts to determine if a knife is still available
Dann has the right formula in a "for sale" forum...no B.S. and cackling like hens. Legite question, ask it....otherwise, just read the thread, then move along. Unless there's a dozen knives for sale on 1 post...there shouldn't be 3 pages of replies.
Jim, glad to assist  :) :D

Jim...
I think it's ok so long as they have to pony up to GOLD as well.
Makes it a lot easier if you are looking for a specific knife brand.
As for being "lazy"...I started to reply to the dude with the black puddy cat avatar that there is a difference between being lazy and knowing where to shop efficiently. But I am a man that believes in whirled peas and he may have mistaken my reply as a dig to his thought process...which I would never do. Don't need any post-war so I just let it go.

And like Beagle Scott says...keep the chatter down (I'm guiltier than most, I know):
Post the for sale knife
If you are a prospective buyer with a question ask it in mail to keep the thread clean
When the knife sells, edit the original post as "SOLD"

As for the others, "let them eat cake" (meaning that it doesn't matter to me so long as the rules of engagement are the same for them).
I like where we are, here in Pleasantville.

As a new collector and traditionalist, I like the single manufacture For Sale concept. I check the Buck's for sale daily and have bought several. I wish the Schrade guys could do the same, my second passion. I hate going through the general for sale list, I have no idea what half those things are???

Howdy,

I don't post much but do come to read and keep up with things. Personally, I like having Buck separate and would not be against having some of the other more popular brands separated out a little more either.

I mean, we have separate discussion area's which makes it easier to find topics for multi-tools, slipjoints, gadgets, sharpening, brand specific areas, etc. So it would stand to reason that refining the separation a little further isn't particularly a bad thing.

Calling someone lazy for wanting a more efficient method of locating information is somewhat narrow minded. If that were the case, then why bother separating anything out at all and just always use the search feature? Just put it all in one gigantic spot and let everyone fend for themselves.

Anyhow, maybe it would help folks sell their knives a little easier too because it would be easier to find.

Sorry for being a little wordy.

I agree also. The last time I was down in the BladeForums pits, there was a thread named "Louisville Cheerleader" or something like that...I looked at it, and it was pretty raunchy...I mean, I like the female body, but you have to remember: that's somebody's daughter... :(

I just bought a Buck 704 from the sale site - my first from the site. Once I learned what and how to do it, the sale went well. Somehow I trust the members and their knives shown on the site more than some other "places". I agree with Scott and Buckaholic. It's too bad I didn't start my collection 'earlier' in life. Sometimes it's hard for me to be and stay in the "what's happening now" scene.

I like the Buck sale forum, and have bought a knife there. Doing so encouraged me to upgrade to gold membership, but did not require it.

I also check the main FS forum a lot, and I wish a few other manufacturers would have their own as well, like Busse. If you aren't looking for a Busse knife, then you could cut out like 70% of the items there.

I am assuming you can still post a Buck for sale in the general forum if you wanted to, and it would probably be a good idea if it was a knife that had more general appeal (like a Mayo TNT or a Buck Strider). If its any sort of collectable knife, I think the buck forum is the way to go.

I like it, I sold one bought one It works great for modified knives as opposed to factory knives.
I have brought up in another brand forum (not Busee) adding a sub sale forum as a result many of the regulars like the idea a couple did not, but those that did not got a little rude about it.

One thing I don't care much for is the new posting ruules on bumps and being allowed to comment on another persons knife. These rules are getting a bit hard and dont exist on any other forums. Though this may be one of the larger forums it is full of adults (many who pay to be here ) and most of them don't have to be so controlled.

Our own For Sale forum is convenient but unfortunately it has little or no activity. Based on the amount of activity on the other For Sale forum there are obviously many more Busse collector/sellers then there are Buck. If you post in the Buck FS thread it will sit very near the top for weeks. BTTs are rarely needed. Good? Bad? Depends on how you look at it.

Most forums seperate in some form. If you search ebay most people searh by brand. Knife collectors tend to buy by brand name more than any other means its logical...but hey since when has logic been a valid reason

Dave and Darryl together!!!!!

I thought I detected some minor earth trembles, vibrations, and strange movements among my Bucks. :D :D :D :D gonna go lock the rest of them in the big toy box!!!!:D

Have a good visit Guys!!!!!

Our own For Sale forum is convenient but unfortunately it has little or no activity.

In my experience, the activity is going on by PMs or email. I've had probably a dozen responses to my threads, but not by posts (although I see there are a couple posts as well).

I usually forget to mark the threads for email notification to posts, so I don't see any of the posts anyway...

If you see something you want, don't just post an "Email me"...go after the guy!... ;)
