Buck Knives for sale thread

I read the "For Sale" section almost daily. But as of yet havent put up anything for sale.

Maybe I am an accumulator instead of a collector...yeah,, that must be it...

Trax, I agree with you on that. Everything I have bought or sold on here has pretty much been by PMs or email. I really meant not many knives going up for sale as opposed to " I will take it, can you post picts?" kind of activity. I think that the more common Bucks are so much cheaper than the Busse knives is one thing. When you condsider shipping as part of the total cost of a knife, if you buy a 110 for $20.00 plus $5.00 shipping you have now paid retail for the knife. So if you decide later to sell the same knife you have to lose $$ when you sell it because you can't get the $25.00 total you paid plus the additional $5.00 you have to pay to ship it to whoever buys it from you. In this instance you lose 20%. On an expensive knife although you may lose a few $$ it may only equate to 1%. I had a new 110 I got on sale for $20.00. I put it on the Buck FS forum for $25.00 shipped. No takers. Instead of losing money I returned to the store and got my $20.00 back. I have another 110 on here now. I am guessing it also will be going back to the store as opposed to being sold for a loss. I have sold 5 knives here. I broke even on one, lost money on 3 and made $5.00 on one. Just my .02 worth.

DaggerBlade...
I agree with all you posted. Peeps forget the cost of doing business with the shipping as part of the actual cost of the knife.
Glad I haven't had my breakfast beer yet. That chinese math of your's was giving me a headache.

I become so attached to the knives I decide to buy that I rarely decide to get rid of any. At this point I can only think of one that I would part with and even then it would have to be in trade for another knife that I'm looking for.

Grasshopper: Cajun Math.. Never to be confused with Chinese math. One beer will only make headache worse. Many beers will make Cajun math very clear. Drink up and read post again.

Hey guys, there is an ongoing issue since Dave and everyone helped us to get the Buck sale thread separate from the other manufacturers.
So I am just curious, how does everyone feel now that the Buck only sale thread has been up for a few months?
Has it hurt Buck Knives sales- not being with the other manufacturers? Has it helped to find more Buck Knives? What are your thoughts and ideas?

...If you look my _Bay history up you'll see what I sell...Nothing...LOL...I'm one of the guys who "buys" when my attention is piqued by something I see. I look at that "Bucks For Sale Forum" probably multiple times daily. When I don't I miss something...It never fails either...Like Scott's 112 and those 2 BG-42 112's...I was sleeping and missed 'em. _Bay doesn't have their knives in one area marked "KNIVES" because it would be too difficult to find what ya want...Each maker has an area...I want to see Bucks not "Fester's Fillet Knives"...I like our "Bucks For Sale Forum"...

I was under the impression that the for sale forum was only open to gold members. Is a regular user allowed to post? welcome? frowned upon? What about posting bucks for trade there?
