Buck knives

Nothing but good experiences. The 110 Folding Hunter is my favorite ‘classic’ folding lock back. Perhaps because it is the classic locking folder :-)

... Below are a Custom Shop teardrop Damascus/flaming Koa wood and a BG-42/orange Fiji wood - and a Cabela's 'Alaskan Guide' in S30V:

Beautiful knives! The combination of damascus and koa wood is absolutely stunning.

I`m not an american but one of my most favourable among all american brands is exactly Buck. I have 110 and Vanguard both with S 30 V, Tempest with ATS-34,105 and 119 with 420 HC. And I have future plans to buy some cutom 110 with BG-42 and buffalo horn scales and Gen-5 skinner with 154 CM. I have nothing bad to say about price/quality ratio of this company.

I would like to know your opinion on buck knives. (I am sure that there will be lots of bad opinions)

perhaps you should read a bit more and look around rather than indulging in vaguely troll like behaviour. Sorry but when you post crap like that you're either a new guy or you're looking to start something... why in your infinite wisdom would you think there would be lots of bad opinions?
read more post less!

I again Was Kidding I have 2 buck knives and they are very good My references to frost cutlery are due to the fact that they rarely break 10$ the first 2 replies to that thread were refering to Frost Mora just look at the replies after that

ya know throw a smilie in there:rolleyes::cool:
kinda puts a new spin on the post.
in all due respect reading through the forums would be helpful, for instance Buck has its own little nook here, as do alot of manufacturers.

I like all my Bucks from my Chinese made 870 urban camo tanto folding shank to my USA made 810 linoleum knife
I guess you can say I collect the 800 "series"

I am the proud owner of a Buck Vanguard. There is'nt much that you can't do with one of those, and it looks awesome too. Buck also provide good sheaths so I have nothing negative to say about them.

for the money Buck knives (at least in my opinion) can't be beaten! I own two Nighthawks.

Is BG-42 still available? I can't find it listed on the Buck web site.

Thanks

Sara Buck sent me an email with this info with regard to Custom Shop 110s:

"You can call in and order the BG-42. We have a limited supply, so we did not put it online. Our phone number is toll free: 800-326-2825, ext. 3. We are open Monday-Thursday 6:30am to 3:30pm Pacific time, and Fridays 6:30am to 12:30pm. It is the same price as our S30V.

We are currently out of stock on the damascus. We will have more available when our stock is filled."

I promptly put in my order for two BG-42 110s.

I used a single blade semi serrated CrossLock at Ground Zero on 9/11. It cut through fire hose, electrical cable and everything else without a hitch. I never cleaned or re-sharpened the knife afterwords, I put the knife away and will pass it on to my first grandson whenever that will be...
