Buck model 317 sheath

Buck 317 trail blazer sheath,the ones that are for sale are black and made of leather.Has any one seen or heard of any other type issued for the 317 trail blazer. One advertisment states:Trail blazer model 317 5 1/4" with pouch type sheath. Buck advertisment :TP500M389
 
I have never seen anything but the black leather sheath. I believe the earlier ones will have a snap with a single BUCK stamped on it and the later may have snap with BUCK in a circle around the edge. There may some difference in where 317 is stamped on back. Either on the belt loop or on the sheath back below the loop.

If I had a high speed connection I would have looked at the catalogs found on the Buck Collectors Club website between 72 and 86. Should of ordered the disc with all the catalogs when it was offered in the newsletter.

Larry Oden or Joe will need to be the final word on this.

I suppose Buck could have made a custom sheath for the 317, but I have never seen anything but the standard black ones. These closely resemble the 110 sheaths of the same era.
