Buck model 532

Yes, yours has obviously been a faithful user. No way anyone could know in those early times how collectable some of these critters can be.

But what makes this one rare, versus a normal 3rd version is that it DOES NOT have scale pins. Just the brass Rocker pin. Unfortunately the Blade Guide gives no information on it other than to say " The inlays will be held in place by two small rivets though one rare version has no inlay rivets at all"

The guide puts a value of $200 on a mint 3rd version. Makes me curious what one of the non rivet ones would bring. But I'm not gonna test the market
Mine isn't quite mint as it has been sharpened lightly

Rat Pack,
I wonder if it would be worth sending back to Buck to be refurbished or would that distroy any of its value?
I think I will contact Buck and see what they say.

Ciao
Ron

If you are talking about just sharpening and polishing, maybe....

I sure wouldn't do anything else to it..

I would leave it alone, if it was me.... Is your and your heirs memories.

This one I have is just a collectable... no memories.... My memory one is a two dot buried in a drawer in the bedroom so as to NOT get mixed up with the rest.

I bet you get a concensus on leaving it!

ON EDIT: I am going to say, DO NOT send it back to Buck. It could very well get a new blade stuck in it and then you have nothing, other than an old user. Just get some brasso and polish it up some. You would have to be very explicite about what you wanted if you sent it to Buck, and right now there are still some quality control issues there since their move to Idaho.. And even your instructions might not be followed.. I think they need some more time to get everyone trained and back up to the experience level they had at San Deigo.

How neat is that...:D

Earl's nail nick is really small, Pack Rat's is not. Earl's also looks to have been on a fast. Does that make a difference in the overall scheme of things? Preston

Guide says there are 7 major variations in this version. No telling.... Could be a diff in pics... Send yours on down this way EEE, I'll send back some really high quality framed prints. :D

This turned into a 110 thing in a 532 thread and might be lost from view.

I'll open it back up in a new thread if anyone is interested.....

Muzzelup,,,,,did you just go Gold???? Jump up to the top and make a post in the sticky that you did so..... That gets you into the drawing. Maybe I just missed it.. WAY TO GO!!!
