Buck Model 560GT is this normal?

Hi,
First of all a very happy New Year and good health to everyone.

I just got a brand new in box Titanium Folder (gray one) modell number 560GT and it's very nice indeed. I noticed however that when it's closed there is lots of blade play you can easily more the blade all the way to one of the Titanium handle slabs.
This works only one way not to the opposite handle slab.
when doing this you "feel" movement just like a to small pin moving in in to large hole and hitting the sides.
Only when completely opened does the blade stop moving to one side but when one grips the blade between thumb and forefinger it can still be moved sideways and again one feels that "hitting the sides".

This doesn't happen on my 110 folders as they don't have any noticable play whatsoever.

Is this inherent to the riviting on the Ti handle slabs?

Cheers, Bagheera

Bagheera,
That knife has been a bugger for a number of reasons! When we roll the blade rivet, it is a fine line between being too tight, and therefore having no "action", and being too loose, and therefore wobbly.
The blade may not be perfectly straight when you look at it in the closed position. This is because the steel has a certain amount of memory and wants to bens back to the position it was in when it was just a coil of raw steel.
Anyway, your best bet is to send it in to me and i will have it tightened up for you under warrantee.

Take care,

Mr. Houser, thanks very much for your answer.
The technical explication just made the things that I noticed clearer to me.
I just noticed it because all the other Buck folders that I have are tight but still smooth.
I checked the blade and as far as I can see it it's as strait as a blade could be.

I will make use of your generous offer to send in the knife but would like to know if you need the box, sheath and papers to go with it or just the knife? less weight means a lot less postage to pay.
Best regards, Bagheera

Bagheera,
Save yourself the postage, we don't need the box or papers-we have plenty!
