I had the opportunity to handle an Odyssey today.

I was very impressed with the fit and finish of this knife. The handle is ergonomic and comfortable. The blade opened with very little effort. We sell them for around $30 and without looking at the price, I would have guessed $60.

I do not care for the riveted handles, but the rivets have never loosened on my 110 or my 112 with over 20 years of use.

While I am now really only interested in custom knives, this knife is a great value. I think that you guys did a good job on it.

I think that this is one that I will recommend to my "non-knife nut" friends to get them started.

That was the intention. Sometimes there is more thought into a $30 price point than a $100 price. We came up with a lot of synergies and efficiencies to be able to offer that knife so inexpensively. Things like threaded fastners for the handles etc had to give but the product is a very capable performer.

Let me know how you think of it after putting the knife through it's paces...

I just bought an Odessy, and have been impressed with it so far, but I have a couple questions regarding the Odessy line. I know there are 3 models, the straight edge, the Ats 34 blade, and the Ats blade with carbonfiber handle. But there seem to be diferent versions inside those versions. In the stores I handled one, the Ats 34 blade. It had a stainless steel inside lining. Then I ordered the same model from the same companies website. What I got had only the lock in metal, and it seemed to be a diferent metal. The numbers on the box, and all of the identifying marks were the same, but it was a drasticly diferent knife. Was it a design change to make the knife lighter, or what? I would apreciate anything anyone knows about this.

Thanks

i just ran across another model, one with a false edge. how may variations are there?
