Buck One Handed Opener....

The easiest to open would probably be the Vantage, although when received might need some tuning to get it perfect but its a liner lock which could put your fingers in the way if your not paying full attention when closing it. Bantams have no steel liners so you need to be conscious of the limits a plastic handled folding knife has, same for the Omni Hunter. The Spitfire might be a happy medium because of the lockback keeping your fingers pretty far away from the blade when closing.
I would also consider the QuickFire assisted auto cause its neat.

Hey gang, thank you for all the thoughful replies. I ended up finding a Open Season folder for around 40 and pulled the trigger. I have an old imperial I use for cleaning and hook removal, so the drop point will work for branch and line duty.

Take a look at the Buck 300 Glacier. Great thumbstud linerlock. Yes, China made, but 420HC steel just a good as US. Opens and locks 100%; closes easily, size just right for EDC. I got one a while back (was a bit shy about China Bucks) but this one is excellent. Also have a Vantage, Solitaire, Stockman (lg), Bantam and a couple others. I really like the barlow type style of the Glacier and it is a tip down carry with the pocket clip screwed into metal. Wonderful knife. Congrats to Buck for having this designed and made.
