Swisstool gets my vote, more utility than the Buck 110. However, both Victorinox and Buck have great warranties. So if either of them get broken you can send them in for repair.
Anyhow, how about getting the GF her own Victorinox, maybe a Hiker or Climber, under $20.00. Everyone you hike or camp with should have their own essential gear. In my opinion, a knife is essential gear.
Now my final thoughts, I am NOT trying to be an ass or start a fight with anyone. Also, I am married and am sympathetic to your willingness to please your GF. However, does it really matter what she thinks about which knife you take or how "cluttered" your belt is? For pity sake your camping or hiking, who cares? This isn't a Martha Stewart outing is it? And since when did "cool looking" factor into usefulness or practicality? Choose what you'll take based on what you will need, not what looks cool. If you will use or think you might need more than one, take more than one.
Good luck,
Mike
