Sk Blades is a good source for the better steel options on the marks man.So much love for the Marksman in here! I need one myself, though it appears it is no longer on the Buck website.
A lot of the young might see Buck as old-fashioned and turn away........and us old guys are dying off.
Buck might want to consider having two sales divisions.....splitting off the traditional knives and giving the new division of modern urban warrior knives a new and catchy name to better appeal to the youth.
A new name, maybe Secret Black Ops Tactical PlastiCool FlashOpen Ripper Division.
While I am not the youngest, I would argue that there is a market for both in the same pools. I have seen plenty of folks that love both the modern and traditional designs. When I was deployed, a lot of the other service members, many of them the younger troops, were impressed with the 110 I brought. What I thought was a basic knife, was impressive to them with its brass fittings and plain edged blade. This in lieu of the Gerber and Benchmade automatics that they were issued, that many would argue impress the younger audiences more.
I think Buck is doing a great job in appealing to both sides. I am a fan of both the old and new and I think that many folks will be tempted in with the newer models and may take a liking to some of the more traditional designs that have a nostalgic appeal that I have seen taking more of a hold lately.

heres a 722 got recently. new updated version, and buck has tightened them up a bunch. almost no play anymore. real modern..thumb hole for one handed opening, pocket clip. even though on the shorter side blade wise for my normal likes...this is a one useful folder. visually ain't real appealing design wise to me, but man is it a great design for a modern daily user. ive been coming around on these. everything works and well.....
I need to send mine back. I have one with more movement than a politician!!
Up down side to side.... never carried or used it. Tried tightening the pivot. Nada. I was going to give it to my son, but not with that much play!
They are Marks displays. He let me take a couple pics.I love those strider fixed blades you assembled. (Those were the blanks at one point?) This is the first time I'm seeing you production step displays, those are fricking cool. Knowing you they came directly off Mr. McCleans desk.![]()

Yes the strider blade blanks were at an Estate sale from an ex employee. No handles no edge or finish work. This model came with serrations. These two blanks did not have any yet so that makes them a special find to me,
Just noticed that too. Looks like it was quietly discontinued(?).So much love for the Marksman in here! I need one myself, though it appears it is no longer on the Buck website.
