Buck sale. Who will be there?

Baker City

I like Baker City, although it is still a habit to call it Baker :D
I tried to get the wife to move there about 12 years ago, but she wasn't as enthusiastic as I was... Especially after I told her she would have to drive to La Grand to go to WalMart

Yeah, this part of the state measures everything by time rather than miles. So it's "45 minutes to Walmart"......................or 70 minutes the other direction which then tempts the shopper to tack on a second hour and enjoy the Big City (Boise).

Honestly, I prefer the BiMart experience, and/or the local Ace Hardware, and if they can't get it done, then Amazon will toss it on the brown truck and I'll have it here in two days.

There's been talk for the last 20yrs of Baker becoming the "next Bend", but it hasn't happened yet. It's still cattle country (timber industry left long ago), but in the last year a small faction of hipsters has been trickling in from Portland and calling their buddies to come visit. Combined with the great local brewery and Anthony Lks ski resort, it might eventually happen. It's a beautiful county, no doubt about it, but part of the beauty is the population density. I don't want that to change appreciably.

I'll post as many pics as I can while I'm there. I save for 6 months to blow it twice a year at this sale. If I buy a couple of some of the same knives I will post it but cannot sell on here due to registered status but can email me. I would love to see some of these specials goto Buck enthusiasts. At the price I paid. I love the knives they produce. The employees there are absolutely some of the greatest people I have met.

Bi-Mart is a good store, and we have two local Ace stores here. We shop at both a lot...

I hope it doesn't turn into the next Bend. The influx of Californians here ruined it... 30 years ago, it was similar to Baker, only a little bigger.
Now it is full of mountain bikers, slope dopes, and people that live for micro breweries. We have a lot of them here.

True enough, it's a beautiful area, but it's NOT the Oregon I grew up in. 30+ years ago I was developing teenage plans to move to Bend when I got a big boy job. You know the rest of the story........

Just saying no dealers are allowed there by what buck ad says.
