i am by no means an authority on any buck prices but i have just aquired a 531^ sawby the ^ has a . under it, i was told here on the forum that one had sold on ebay for the 250.00 range
Five to six hundred were made as I recall. The blade steel should be 425M. Four or five prototypes have Buck, USA as the tang stamp. Thirty or so have a "V" date stamp. Some of those thirty were Buck Club gold etched blade versions. These mentioned with the unusual tang stamps go for well over $250. FYI.
