The new "Bushcraft/Survival" Selkirk, landed in my mailbox this morning. Initial impressions out of the box are positive, razor sharp, fit and finish are fine. Handle is comfortable, and the sheath is well designed and retention is very positive, no rattle or movement, and I'd wear it inverted with no fear of it falling out.

Had to hit the back yard for a quick test drive.

Quick notching cut.

Tent stake time, hammer pommel works well, the spider web design in it, helps it hang onto what your driving into the ground, so it doesn't slip/glance off.

Quick feather stick.

Firesteel time, it locks into the sheath and the elastic cord stretches down over the end, it's not falling out! The built in whistle is loud and annoying, just what you want.

The firesteel is good, you have to get some of the black coating off, to get to the ferrocium, and it's not one of those rods that throws a huge shower of sparks, but instead you get a cluster of big sparks. No trouble igniting cotton tinder.

Good size, not to large, but big enough to handle Bushcraft stuff.

I like it, can't really find any complaints, other than the jimping is a little to sharp on the spine, but that can be easily remedied. Not a bad entry level outdoors setup.

Bear claw, is it really flat ground? Sure looks like it from the pictures.

I sure like the looks of this one, but I struggle with the country of origin. I usually only buy US made knives. I read on another forum that there were plans for a U.S. made version in the future, but you can't believe everything you read on line, especially if nobody here seems to knows about it. I would like to have a nice purpose built Buck bush knife. It would fill a hole in my Buck collection.

while I am not a made in USA diehard I won't buy a buck knife unless its made in the USA....there was one other chinese knife they came out with year that caught my attention....but I did not buy it once I found out it was not made in the USA.

Nice looking blade.
Look forward to more feedback as you get some field time with it.

I am so envious of that green grass. I was out today for a while on snowshoes. Still close to three feet of snow here. It was zero this morning and supposed to be colder tomorrow.

Got my Selkirk properly setup for us southpaws. Nice to be able to do this, Buck sheaths haven't always been lefty friendly! :)

How far apart are the holes along the sheath spaced? 3/4" o.c.? I'm wondering if one of these could be used to lower the carry-height:
