Buck/Strider 889 rivets

Has anyone replaced the rivets with torx or other fasteners on this knife? How about replacing the handles with G10.

Boatsman - It's not possible to take that knife apart without destroying the plastic handle scales (trust me, I have done it before). The rivet and the standoff are one solid piece of steel.

The standoff parts for the G-10/screw construction variant are similar except that they have been drilled and tapped for screws.

Thanks for the info....I had been thinking about replacing the rivets with screws and possibly making new G-10 handles.
