Buck Strider 890 PE and new steel??

I read a while back that there were plans for plain-edged versions of this model and possibly some runs with different steels..... any updates on this?
 
Right now we are waiting on the new factory to be up and running. Once its all set we can start building some variations.

What kind of steels are you thinking about using? And how long will it take before the factory is up and running at normal capacity?

I would prefer a run in BG-42, but it depends on what the Strider guys want to do, maybe S30V or 154CM

Factory is getting there, however I am still in SD and don't have "eyes on"

I do know they are ahead of schedule.

Hopefully we will have a special run soon.

Josh, Thanks for the fast reply. I dont know whether this is a part of your decision making, but will the alt-material knives be available from distributors like Moteng? I have some of these on back order for customers but I am tempted to mention this and see if they want to wait for an alt-steel version.

As it is, I think they are happy enoguh to get one in any material, but the move has had some distibutors waiting for re-supply since Nov. If there is a chance of a new version I am pretty sure they would want to go with that.

On another note. Are there any more fixed blade models in the offing?

I finally handled 890 and I have to say pictures do not do it justice. I would like a plain-edged, BG 42 version with out the black paint. Any chance on a satin version?
