Okay, I'm going to ask this, but I really don't want to start another Strider conflagration.

I've read in several threads throughout the forums, about the "falling out" that Buck had with Mick Burger (aka "Strider").

Was this falling out due specifically to the scandal with Mick burger & his claims of military [SF] service? Or was there a specific incident that occurred between Strider and Buck on a business level, that caused Buck to end the business relationship?

I'm just curious; Buck is one of my favorite brands. I haven't been able to find anything specifically about why the Buck/Strider thing ended.

thx - cpr

I am so tempted to move this thread ... lets see if it plays out more circumspectly than it began. Otherwise, perhaps FEEDBACK would be more appropriate.

Buck didn't really say much that I have seen on the issue.

It could have simply been time for the agreement to end after an x year contract.

Since I'm not a fan of Mick Strider/Burger I'm glad to see that chapter closed for Buck.

As OC said, Buck didn't say much in the forum about it.

I like the Buck Strider models and lament their passing.....

Buck will not get into commenting on this issue. Good for them.

This issue is a few years old now and there is way more information in other forums and threads.

That pretty much answers my question; I haven't found much either.

As I said, I didn't want to start another nasty flame war, but after looking at several of the Buck/Strider knives, I liked what I saw from the perspective of a Buck product. I'm not really interested in owning any Striders, but the Bucks looked nice.

I'm going to lock this one up. Thanks for the info guys.

ps: Esav - sorry if this was in the wrong place.
