I was just wondering, are there any plans to ever offer the Buck/Strider folders in anything but ATS-34? I think that many of us would jump at the chance to pay a little more to have an S30V blade, or even BG-42. Maybe they could have a Ltd. Ed. run of S30V bladed Lg. folders, i know id buy one in a heartbeat, even at a higher price.
That being said, i got to handle my first Buck/Strider folder today at a local shop, and i was generally impressed. They had a Tanto and spearpoint in each size, i like the Lg. spearpoint best. They really are built like a tank and seem extremely solid, the liners are very thick, the Lg. spearpoint had a very solid lockup, with little to no play, and the liner was exactly where it should be, well towards left of the middle of the blade, BUT, on BOTH of the small models, the liner went too far to the right, on one, it was exactly in the center, which is too far for a brand new knife, the other was well right of center which is plain defective. So, QC could use a little improving, but, again, the one Lg. spearpoint i played with was just about perfect in every respect, so, it seems that if you do get a good one, it is a very well made knife, and if you get a bad one, well, return it until you get a good one. But, again, i would LOVE to own one in S30V!!!
