Buck Strider Mini, detent holding power (or tip-down)?

I'm looking at the Buck Strider Mini SP-2.

However, I've shied away from tip-up pocket clips, ever since I had a nasty run-in with one.

I carry in my left rear pocket, which means the blade isn't pushed up against a seam in tip-up carry.

How strong is the Mini's ball detent to hold the blade shut? How well-covered is the tip by the handles/scales?

Is there any way to convert it to tip-down carry?

My Emerson is pretty good; my MOD CQD MkII is pretty weak.

Thanks!
