Alright Just curious but I am going to buy some TAD GEAR DUAL TRITIUM THUMB STUDS for my Buck Strider 880tx but I would like to know how to get the old Thumb studs off the knife. And Is there any other type of Mods I can do to this Knife ?

Thanks

Ok Can someone just tell me how to get the old thumb studs off so I can put the new ones on. Thanks

OK, I can't resist asking.

Why would a person need Tritium thumbstuds?

I'll assume it's to find the thumbstud in the dark, but seriously how often do any of us "look" for the thumbstuds on a folder???

Don't you just know where they are by "feel"?

Maybe ya can clamp in a vise and drill 'em out?

Also, I looked at em...sounded cool. $69.00?

Your 880 must be different than my 881, cause it has a screw head on the back side...

Put a little cloth on the thumbstud if you dont want to scrarch it and use two sets of vise grips. They're pretty tight but that worked for me. Also, when you put the tritium studs on, use just a bit of blue loc-tite, you'll never have a problem. Hope that helps, Jim

It's just a way to kinda make it "yours" so to speak. A little different. Everytime I get a new acoustic guitar I replace the tuners with gold or ebony just to make it a bit more "mine". Hope that helps a little, Jim
