Hi,

One of them is going to be my first spearpoint Strider folder. At the moment I have $200 to spend so the only option is Buck Strider. But tell me if Strider AR is really twice as good as Buck? If yes I'll wait some time. But if Buck is perfectly OK I'll go and buy it now! So, what's your opinion guys?

Though the Buck Strider is a great knife in its own right, the AR is more like a 100 times the knife! Defintely worth more than the asking price and the wait. The Strider custom folders define "tactical folder." It may be the only folding liner lock that you can abuse without really worrying about failure. 1/4" Blade Stock! What other folders use that?!?!?!?!?

PiterM,

I have the Buck/Strider with the spearpoint blade. If you really want one, I will sell you mine, shipped to you, for $145. Then I am going to use that money and order the Custom AR.

I use the Buck/Strider as a utility knife around camp, the field, etc.

You are half way to the AR, save your money and get the "GOOD STUFF"!!

I would buy the Buck spearpoint now and send the left over money to Strider as deposit on a custom and scrimp, save, mow yards and sell plasma (just kidding) for the next four months to pay it off.

Not even worth thinking about, save for the AR. It is THE best deal in a custom folder out there-I guarantee you will be glad you held out for the real thing.

PietrM,
I have both the AR and the GB folder. These are the most awesome folders you can imagine. I had no idea until they came. Almost 10 oz.each!
I can only equate the sound of them opening and locking into position to that of a 12ga pump shotun racking, the thud of a 250 lb linebacker smaking a running back at full speed,or the "authority" of a slam dunk by Shaq. When you finally hold one of these pupppies in your hand, you are guaranteed to say: "Holy Sh**!" or "Whoa!" It is just unavoidable!

My advice, would be to save for the AR. Believe me, if you get the Buck Strider (which is a good knife in its own rite) and then you handle the AR, you will most definetely be kicking yourself in the ass for quite a long time.

Anyway, that's my opinion, take it or leave it.

Good luck

Forget the buck striders, GB & AR are the mother of all folding knives. You can keep researching tactical folders but you can't find a folder this tough.
