Buck/Strider police knife ATS-34 BOS heat treatment

Thanks for the news. I just ordered one of these not even five minutes ago.(4.45pm Monday June 19, 2006) I will post back here when it arrives. Lets see how fast Buck service is. :thumbup: :D
 
Do you know if the Police knife has the thicker liners or if it is the original version? Thanks. -Lev
 
The $40 have "TACCOM™ glass-reinforced nylon" handles & ATS-34 (882BKX / 5520) and are NOT the ones with the G10 handles & 154CM (882SBTG CMT / 5608). I have 2 on the way so I'll verify this when they arrive...though, for $40....how can you go wrong? :)


That said, does anyone know why buck seems to use both 154CM and ATS-34 for these??? I assume that these are just used interchangably based on supply in some cases and "on purpose" in other cases since I also see that their website states that the Alpha foldig hunters have "working knives with ATS-34/154CM steel blades." Anyway, whether these are different & used interchangably based on supply, or they are just the same material with both labels, does anyone know to what RC the Police knives are heat-treated?
