Buck Strider question?

I just bought the large Buck Strider folder and it seems really hard to open? I really like the knife and it is built like a tank. I am just wondering if the pivot screws are too tight, or if it just needs to be worked in?. It does seem awfully hard to open though. Any ideas?

Thanks,
Ryan

My experience with them is that they need to be woked in a little. Or, you could take the knife apart and gently smooth things out yourself. Wear, lubricant, cleaning, wear, lubricant seemed to be the cycle that worked for me on my B-Ss.

How difficult is it to get it back together after taking apart. I'm talking in the sense that the pivot screw needs to be set correctly and such.?

Thanks,
Ryan

Just adjust the pivot screws. I had to adjust mine (too loose) and it's super smooth now!

Exactly what I would do! Exactly what I did! Me and my Dremel can smooth just about ANYTHING!

I polished the liners where the blade rotates along with the blade. Putting it back together requires tightening BOTH pivot screws. I tighten a little on one side then a little on the other side, little more on the first side, then back to the second side. After a while you can adjust it exactly to your liking and have it glassy smooth to open. Since I like mine a little tight that is how it is, but still comes out with one push.......albeit, a hard push!

Ryan,
I would only add that if you do take it apart, make sure you apply some loc tight to the threads so they will stay put.
