I'm curious to know the development history of this knife and what makes it different/special then the other Buck Strider folders. Looking around the only thing I see different is the Positive Deployment Texturing (PDT) on both sides of the exposed blade surface to facilitate the two-handed Safety-Open (patent pending). Is there any other difference? Just curious.

No there are differences in handle material TACCOM and G10. Also there are different blade materials. ATS34 - 154CM and 420 are some of the variations. Also blade style - this is a part serrated there are also the plain edgle 889 type blades.

Thanks for the response. So which came 1st the Buck/Strider or the Buck/Strider/Tarani? Base on the description of the Buck/Strider/Tarani, it says they spent a great deal of time doing interviews and analysis to come up with the design.

Does this mean that the Buck/Strider/Tarani came out even before the Strider SMF, SNG, and PT? Just trying to get a timeline on how the designed evolved and what makes it different the the other Striders, and Bucks out there other then blade and handle material.
