I believe your listing of Fieldmaster 659 should actually be the Fieldmate 639.

There are three different variations of the Patent Pending four-line ricasso mark. One has BUCK over 184, one BUCK over 184< and one BUCK over 184>. These are available in standard and black oxide finish.

I believe your listing of Fieldmaster 659 should actually be the Fieldmate 639.

And if that is right, there were both spine saw teeth and plain straight spine blades. Let alone the black or OD rubber handles but both did have the scalers in the clip, right? Oh, camo sheath or all black nylon? A yellow fold-over box or the black box with white racing stripes?

sheesh  :p

185 dive knife (since you have included Intrepids) shown with 655

Good luck finding some of these it's half the fun !!!

Topol I think its more rare that your 655 is bead blasted! I have seen several without serrations, but not many without the black oxide finish! Nice knives gentlemen!

Whoa!
There was a Fieldmate made without a sawtooth back???!
Amazing discovery for me here, thanks!

I have a buck 184 usa reverse pat pend. In mint condition. I have found some information online and very few other examples on auction sights. I was just wondering how rare this version of the 184 is. With only 1000 being made this way and the fact I can't find it for sale anywhere I would think kinda rare correct? I have original sheth with compass with liquid still in it and 2 larger buck pockets. All in amazing unused condition. I am no collector of knives .

Does anyone remember how many of the 890/650 were made? Seems like a very small amount.
