buck vanguard master series?

what would be a reasonable price for a nib buck master series vanguard with BG-42 steel?

Since they're out of production it's pretty much dependant on what the customer wants to pay. I think they listed above $200 and you could find them at internet dealers as low as $155. I got mine when the last of them were pretty near gone for around $180. This price range starts to compete with custom knives which puts a ceiling on the top end.

I would guess that somewhere between $150 and $250 would be possible, depending on buyer personal interest. The best place to find a price would be the Buck forum here at Bladeforums or ebay. If you search "closed" auctions on ebay for Buck and BG42, then for Buck and BG-42, then for Buck and Series you may find what some have sold for.
 
Thanks jeff I tried a search, it seems that everyone that bought one is hanging on to it.
 
Here's the last lead I had on a MS Vanguard (from an email from Philip Vrsnik back in July). You could give a phone call. I would also ask on the Buck forum.

"Jeff, if you're still interested in the Buck Vanguard Master series BG42,
I believe there is one left at S.I.R. Sports Store in Winnipeg, Manitoba
selling for $187.50 Canadian. You can reach them at (204) 786-8966 and
ask for the knife department. Make sure you call the store directly and
not the mailorder line because they will quote you $249.99 Canadian. I
believe this is an in store special only but if you call the store I
expect you will get the better price."

The only buck master series that I have found are the over run master series made I believe in 1999 the vanguards are 165.00 plus shipping and insurance.This I believe is still a little below retail.
