All,

I have decided to purchase a Buck Vanguard. :D I like the shape of the blade.:D
I see it with a rubber handle or a "wood grain" handle. I have also seen it advertized with a "cocobola" handle. As this will not be a user I am not interested in the rubber handled model.
My question is what other handle material has this knife been made available?
Is the "wood grain" model the same as the "cocobola" model?
Thanks to all who respond.

I have seen stag handles vanguards,as well as rosewood at cabelas I believe.

Not sure about the second question, but the standard wood on a vanguard dosn't really look like cocobola to me.

I have seen them with Stag, elk, rosewood(from Cabelas), Buffalo horn,
I believe the "wood grain" is referred to as cocobola stained hardwood.
Also Ducks unlinited did a run with french green wood handles, I am sure there are others out there but I cannot recall them now.
Good luck! I think you will like it!!

Edited: I believe there was also a Cherrywood version...

All,

thanks for feedback! :D I love it! More choices, more to collect!:D
