Does anyone prefer the Avid to the Pro? I was thinking about trying out an Avid. I've only ever had the Pro model. I love the dymondwood handles on the Avid though.

Some sites or sellers use that catch line to sell more knives. I see discontinued on a favorite knife, I think well I better stock up. Bad business...

It worked bought 2 Vantage pro's yesterday.

I still haven't picked one up yet. I think my Buck discounts expire soon. I better take a look. The tan pro looks good to me.

Absolutely, I like the smaller blades and the Avid is just about perfect. I wish the Avids had some of the variety you can find in the Pros, but I'll stick with the little guys.

Avid just specifies the blade steel and grip material, not the size. You can get both small and large in Pro, Avid, Select, and Paperstone.

Or at least you could back when I was compiling model numbers.

I liked the vantage when I had one, but I'd prefer to have something a bit larger. Like say an XL one with a 3 3/4 or 4 inch blade.

I agree, I usually pack a Spyderco Endura but have recently acquired 2 Vantages, an Avid Dymondwood & a Force. I prefer the blade on the Force so put the wood handles on it. I do wish it had a 4" blade that would awesome
