Apparently each of these were personally signed by Chuck Buck, what kind of tool was used to engrave them?

Chuck used a cool little electric pen engraving tool. Here he is at a Bass Pro Shop in CA singing a few knives for me (What a super nice gentleman).

JB, In the past the times I have seen Chuck and CJ sign knives they were using compressed air for pen power. They carry several little bottles like welding gas bottles. I think the goal was not having to be tied to extension cords. 300

Mine arrived today. Nice piece. Thanks again to the OP for the heads up. Glad to add it to my collection.

Mine arrived today also. Pretty sweet. Looks like the resellers are getting in on the deal also, saw one on the bay today for 2.5 times what I paid. I like the older 'BUCK KNIVES' pattern boxes. They are more attractive and the cardboard is thicker. The current crop of knife boxes from Buck barely support their own weight.

Just ordered 3rd one, keeping one. Two for gifts. Very nice.

I am glad everyone (so far) is happy with their decision to jump on this based on my post.

My one replacement along with the additional one arrived in the mail this AM. Both of these seemed to be just fine!

When I saw this post yesterday I ordered mine immediately. It is supposed to be here next Tuesday.

I just recently joined BladeForums and have renewed my interest in knives. I have started looking through my house searching for any old knives I might have stashed away and last weekend in the bottom of my closet I found the 503 I had purchased years ago. The markings date the knife to 2006. I bought the knife because I wanted something a little slimmer and dressier than the 303 that I carried every day to work. I carried the 503 a few times but ended up just carrying the 303 all the time. I really like the size and shape of the 503 and I am glad I got the chance to get a little piece of Buck history.

Mine came today and I agree the signature is pretty cool. I was thinking it was going to be an etching but him really signing it is great. Thanks for the heads up.

I decided to order one for myself and got it today. The blade doesn't snap back closed and I have to assist it to full closed. Is that normal and just needs broke in?

Buffing compound can find its way into the pivot area slowing the self-close. You might try: compressed air, WD40, hot soapy water, stream of hot water, alcohol bath or any way you can think of to remove waxy dust from a crevice. Once finished, clean with warm soapy water, dry completely, add a tiny bit of food grade mineral oil to moving parts and work open and closed a few times. How does the bark look? Pictures would be great.

Thanks, I'll do your suggestion. It has gotten better but still hangs up. The bark is quite even on both sides and darker than the ones pictured here. It reminds me of a hitter"s mustache, I'll take pictures today.

I had a similar issue (see post 15 on page 1) and returned it on their recommendation.

It seemed to be gunky from 13 years of storage. It works better now that I cleaned it. Here's some pictures. Purple for prince royalty.

Just ordered one. Still shows in stock. Hope it's not too small. I plan on using it even tho' it may be a collectible. Nothing too rough tho'.

I'll enjoy mine too and keep it in nice shape.

I have noticed that spine on this one is not square. I laid it on a table on its spine and could see it leaned to one side, I've never seen a knife where the spine wasn't ground square.
