I sent back two knifes on 11/28 this year, one Wenger and one Buck as a test to see which company had better customer service? I know this isn't a real test, but i had two knifes that needed repair and thought i would see which company took better care of me.

The Wenger had tired back springs, the Buck had a broken pen blade, both SJ's.

Both companies are known to have great CS, but i'm still waiting to hear back from Buck and i got a brand new Wenger over a week ago.

I have been taking care of in the past before Buck moved some of it's knife making to China and i wonder if they didn't move their CS there as well?

What's going on with Buck's Warranty Department these days?

I still love Buck Knifes, the ones made in the USA i must say, the others not worth talking about IMO.

Hmmm James... Where is the Wenger made?
I love the usa buck knives also...
But the others are still o.k. for use and have a lifetime warranty still..

It's only been 3 weeks, figure 3-7 days for it to get there, depending on what postage you used, Buck hasn't had it that long.

I sent in a 301 for replacement/repair and got a new one bakc in about 4-5 weeks.

You also have to figure it is now hunting season across most of the country,
that will slow things down...
I sent in 2 knives early this year. I emailed Joe to let him know they were coming. I mailed them out the end of that week, and I received my 2 repaired and sharpened knives back the middle of the next week. PERFECT!!!:D

have you still not gotten your knife back? I forwarded this thread to Joe for his review

 I sent a buck 882 to w/r with a clip that was brand-new and had the bolt that the clip screws into fallout and had really bad lockup all the way to the right a reference both of these problems. And received any 882 with an even worse lockup and no box. Still not sure what to do. I've just been sitting on it for months considering trading it but I feel bad for whoever gets this knife

ok here is what i would do...
put in an package and mail it to post falls
to BKI attention J. Houser, yada yada bing bam boom
in said letter state you problum...
dont gripe jest state that it did not lock up and it still dont.
.
..
...
3 days later send an email to JHouser@buck...
again you are jest bringing to his attention you sent it in
it is not to you likeing and it is on its way to him for his opion

be nice
give it some time say two weeks - mark it on the calender

then follow up with an email asking if he had
gotten the first email and if the knife had arived yes
again
no bitching needed nice still will work.
let us know what happens ok?

While I appreciate our loyal Buckaroos making excuses for the slow CS from Buck...:o
Once again we got caught with our pants down during the busy season. I had one of my CS reps transfer to another department and lost a full month by the time the dust had settled and I had a new person in and trained.
Our warranty states that we will make every attempt to get the knife back within 4 weeks of when we get it. It sounds like we are still ok as far as that goes on your knife but having said that, I personally think that 4 weeks stinks and through most of the year it is more like 2, and in some cases, we have a replacement knife in the mail the day we recieve the package from our customer.
I hired 2 temporary employees to help catch us up for this year and am determined that next year, we will be able to maintain the 2 week goal through our busy season. I hate coming in second!
Druid, my original offer still stands on that 882.

Thanks guys for the help, i appreciate it, i will let you know if i ever hear back from Buck?

I'm still waiting to hear back from Buck, i gave them my phone number and email address, it has been over four weeks now and no word from Buck. :thumbdn:

In the past Buck had great CS, sent a few knives back and i was always surprised how fast they took care of me, that is the past i'm sorry to say, after they moved out of CA and into China as well, they are not the old Buck Knives i used to love anymore, that is death and buried as far as i'm concerned!

I must say this is a great forum though, great work guys. ;)

James

The Wenger was made in Switzerland.

I got it today, a brand new knife as a replacement, after all said and done, it was worth waiting for, the made in the USA Bucks are still made to last.
