Well the geese and robins are arriving .. and flickers too .. although snow still covers all but the odd patch of south facing hillside.
Speaking of ... The path to camp has been treacherous for almost a week with rain then very mild temps. Last haul of propane and water was tough. I needed to break a fresh path on snowshoes. ... and did faceplant more than once.
Today in the beautiful March sunshine you can see the remains of the original south facing path giving way to the warmth.
Snow has receded from the tent ...
It is hard to believe that I dug out around the exterior of the tent so many times and that I would dig down to the tops of the stakes and use them as supports.
I pitched using stakes rather than have guy lines extend out so far (tent shape requires) and for tensioning over winter. I had to put blue pool noodles on guy lines with summer tent because Daisy would send tent pegs flying when she got the zoomies
Heat off inside today .. sunshine on canvas cooked inside at 29⁰c
So, before rain expected tomorrow, I wanted to dig out my tools that I haven't seen since Dec 2 .. 3 .the big snowstorm
Snow is soft now. Easy digging .. down only about a foot and a half....
