nice. thanks for sharing the pic.

sorry for off topic request op....

I looked up what $125 in 1985 would translate into today's money....

$125 in 1985 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $326.61 today, an increase of $201.61 over 37 years.

I'm also guessing that by the time they had been discontinued, their prices had gone up from their initial pricing. So, they wouldn't be cheap at all if they were still being made.
Add their long discontinued status, and their history and collectability, and I guess I can understand why they just ain't cheap to be had, (unless one is a bit lucky).
I have seen them at some deal like prices, but usually not very pristine at all.

They where only made for navy seals but they complain it was way to heavy so they started making it for the public

Digging up my old knife photos, here's my Buck 184.
It was after the compass was inside the handle cap. but before the fuller with the writing in it.

It looks like you have used it. If you did how well did it do and what did you used it for if I might ask

They've really gone up since I looked at them last. I always figured if Buck made them now they'd be a $500-$600 knife. Seemed like you used to be able to buy a nice original for that. Maybe not anymore...

I'm in the age group that wanted one then. Just don't know what I'd use it for and don't feel like dropping that much on something that sits in the safe. now.

I don’t think they make that type of knife the way they used to back then. I have over 20 different types of Bowies and the BuckMaster 184 is the thickest and heaviest of them all, it has such an impressive look to it nexus the grappling spikes is something you don’t see in any knife.

Nostalgia is a big part of my wanting one. Another reason is that it will make for a cool conversation piece within my already eclectic collection. Then, simply wanting it for posterity 👍😊👍
