Buck's 334 Millennium Trapper

Ok, thanks. They did a Remington with a cartridge case base where Bucks edge shield is. DM

Oh, well I am going to bet that it is not shown. Bet you a nice cold, hot weather soft drink. Those came out into the market before Camillus closed down. I cannot remember, an I did not write down where I got it and what it cost. (Everyone - Don't do that, write it all down somewhere). Your knife and some I saw in various kinds of finish after the factory auction were made different. Bet, you can go over to the Camillus forum and show a photo(s) and at least two guys will have your answers. I am going to guess, that they just used all of the circle unrouted jigged slabs for the scales and his may have just lost his shield . Also remember Camillus sold another companies version of this same knife with jigged scales. Didn't they show this over in Camillus forum with a deer head emblem on the scale. Trying to pin some stuff down right at the end of the Camillus factory closure can be frustrating. 300

I would guess you are right 300, probably took what ever was left and threw it together where ever the handle was in it's production, explains no router hole on my knife and a spot for but no Buck medallion. Camillus did a wildlife series I believe with this same knife, deer head and others on the emblem.

GSEA, you read my mind, I was wondering if the Buck 334 was the same knife as the Camillus American Wildlife Trapper. Guess I have one after all (in a different uniform). OH

Yep, those are it. I think it was almost a "At the end of day everyone don't come back anymore" at Camillus's end.

What year were those mfg.? And is that a sharpening tool that came with it? No sheath? Thanks gsea for posting your photo of this model. DM

3 Different mammals. Only the drop point blade has the inked wording? That blade looks a touch wider than the Buck 334 they made.?

I believe 2000, that's the pronghorn, deer, & moose. There are more animals and no sheath.

David, to answer your remark about the mammal medallions (and dates) of the original knives - I have this catalog page; it show's all the medallions available - my notes say the series was introduced in the mid-1970's. As this is the same knife that both Buck and Remington used in their own issues I would think that "last day" Buck's made at Camillus could have ended up with any of their parts and pieces. I would also think that all of the knives made under any of the names would have stainless steel blades as the Camillus and Buck brands sported. I would like to eventually own one of the Buck branded Millennial versions as Buck is my preferred brand of knife. OH
Ps Looks like your snow went away fast!

Hunter, thank you. So, there were 9 offerings w/ Camillus medallion American Wildlife series and they offered a sheath. As they realize the model might need a sheath. Camillus did a good job on these 334 Trappers. No surprise as they had been making them a long time. Hope you find one as you would enjoy using it. We had some melt off yesterday but the next 5 days is forecast to be in the teens. So, not going away. Our paved road still has ice in places. Which makes it interesting getting to town. DM

I've longed to be the owner of one of these jumbo trappers, but it hasn't happened yet so I can only dream of how that knife feels in my hand ,lol.. It is one of my favorite looking trapper models so hopefully someday I can find one and be happy lol.

Camillus closed their doors in 2007. So, well after making the Buck 334 Trapper. I enjoy carrying this Trapper in a 110 sheath. There is not much room left when in the sheath. I've always like to sheath carry. Wonder why Buck didn't contract Camillus earlier to do this model? DM

I've read this thread too many times - a Buck 334 Trapper is now on the top of my pursuit list! OH
