Buck's 425M Steel

Still, looking at the numbers closely it would compare with 440A.

I've always thought highly of 425M. To me, its characteristics are much like 440C. While I enjoy the 420HC just fine, and agree that its really hard to tell the difference between Buck's 4xx series heat treated steels, I must admit that 425m seems the most balanced and I highly favor it. No wonder I have a 1980s Buck 112 in my pocket everyday. Wish Buck would do a special run with 425M - if for nothing other than nostalgic reasons!

David (R.I.P.) is no longer with us...hes in a better place now......but he would have appreciated your post.......
