Anyone ever sit around and think what gun and knife combo is perfect together.Mine would be my octogon barreled 45/70 marlin and a 124 with rose wood. whats your's?

I'm not all that picky, but my 112 went well with my Colt Python 357 magnum service revolver. I always thought the black micarta scales was particulary appropriate for police use.

bigfish44, I don't know about perfect but for many years my 103 and 118 accompanied me and my Ruger M77 in 270 cal.

I have no complaints at all about that combination.

My problem now...which I'm enjoying the heck out of:D :D is deciding what combo I want to go with. Guns, I don't have the choice that I have with the Bucks:eek:   I just love it:). Preston

2X Ruger Flat top Blackhawks .357's consecutive serial Numbers with factory stag grips and my new stag handled Kolinga 401. It's a match made in heaven.

Wow,,, this could really get subjective...

What knife I am carrying out on the ranch might depend on what gun I am carrying, and what I am hunting. But in all cases, I will either have a 110 Alaskan or a 277 alpha on me. The truck or a 4 wheeler will be near by or under me with an Alaskan 192 or an INFI Coot, and the Battle Rat. (sorry Guys,,, not Buck Specific....totally.)

For me... guns and knives depend on the time of the year and the game being hunted.

As for guns...... The Browning Stainless Stalker in .270 with 3x9x40 Leop is the primary deer gun. The old faithful Winchester 100 in .243 is it's backup. and that little .243 took 4 doe this past season.

For Turkey, the Ruger.22 Hornet is my ticket. With a .17 single shot, and a Marlin .22 mag as backups.

If we are out wabbit hunting the old 870 Wingmaster is the old faithful. If I am feeling nostalgic I may pull out the Browning A5 20g that I restored after inheriting from an Uncle.

The Daughters usually manage to get into some shooting competition with the 10/22 and moms ancient old Ruger standard 22 auto pistol or the newer MK whatever long barrel..

Or they drag out the ar or mini14's and destroy a few cedars (no big loss there) I did have to put a stop to them cutting down the live oaks with the 9mm and 45's,and 7.625x25's (CZ52's)

so.... bottom line... where there there are guns, there are usually knives. They are only tied together for me, by both always being present.

My favorite combo for grouse hunting is my Winchester Model 12 in 12 gauge and Buck 321. For deer it would have to be my Fred Bear 50 lb. long bow and a 110. If I must take a gun I can bring a TC Renegade 50 cal. Black powder muzzle loader. For small game a Browning Auto22 and a 301 would be perfect.

My favorite combo for deer hunting is my 1907 Winchester 38-55, model 94 and my 118.

Lookswise I'd go with my Winchester Defender shotgun-brown stock and brown foregrip and my Vanguard in wood, brown handle and sheath. I should take a pic of that.

Real easy. Remington Model 7400 Semi-auto 30.06 with a 3X9 Bushnell scope, along with my Buck 120 General.

The rifle kills the Moose, the General dresses and cuts the meat for the table.

What guns and knives were meant for, in my opinion.

Close but not quite there Hobo, its gotta be my vintage Remington 7600, with the Leupold Base and Rings, Leupold VXII 2x7, along with my brand new and now absolutely positively razor sharp from tip to guard Idaho stamped 119. But you do have the right caliber for sure. How can anyone ever go wrong with a couple of true American classics like .30-06 Remington Rifles and Buck Knives?

My 1895 Cowboy and Ruger Vaquero .45 with my 119 and 110.

My Victor Sarasqueta 12 double with my 500.

My issue weapon Hk compact with my Buck/Strider and 560.

This thread is awesome, but needs some pictures.

That said, I think my Browning A-bolt Stainless stalker and my Alpha with rubber scales (on the way now!) will make quite a handsome couple. I'll try to share a picture.

I'll take a shot at it.....

Don, nice outfit...this would have to be put under my fantasy carry:) don't think I ever will but the older I get, the more things I want to have experience with and the more fantasies I want to live:eek: :D .

YES, I know I should have stag handles on the six shooter...next fantasy...Sharon Stone( movie "The Quick and the Dead"?) will teach me how to draw and shoot:D :D :D :D. Preston

I can also absolutely agree and respect your choices Terrierman. Model 7600 is also well represented in our hunting group for it's drop dead reliability as a pump. Most of the guys can fire off a clip pretty much as fast as my semi.
The 7400 came to me from my father, so very cherished weapon, and so far absolutely no problem with jamming as I look after it very well.

119 Special is also with me whenever I hunt, and it's a toss-up as far as 119 or 120 when it's time to gut, depending on the circumstances. Often both get used since moose hide/hair is really hard on an edge so as one dulls slightly, the other comes out.

Yep, Remington and Buck for me also.

This is just a comfortable combo for me, any where I go. MayoTNT and an early '60s .38 S&W .

This combo is my new hunting set up,bear&deer. Ruger.454 Casull, tricked by Mr.Sandy Garrett(Northern Va. Gun Works),trigger shaved & pull reduced, action worked, and vented @Magna-port. The 119 I got for an elk hunt with my brother, outside Glenwood Springs,Co.
