Bucks and Rabbits

They say domestic cats, feral or otherwise kill as many as 3.7 billion birds annually in the continental US alone. More conservative estimates put the figure at 1.4 billion.

Part of the problem is cats often do not even eat their kills, they are not hunting because they are hungry. This is especially true in house cats. This means that a cat will kill a bird if it gets the chance, hungry or not.

Lap, I agree. Because I have seen 1-2 quail each year with just it's head eaten off. There could be more and the others were cleaned up by
some other predator. But just the fact that we find them causes us to connect the dots. No owl, hawk or coyote would do this, leaving the best
parts. DM

^good question. i see warbles on squirrels and citrus rats sometimes.

I see them on rats and rabbits. If they dig under the hide they can feed on the host thru winter. I've also seen them on cows ankles. My girls had to dig them out of their show rabbits. I've heard farmers call them wolves. Yes, after a freeze you don't have to worry about it. DM
