Buck's edges

Yes,all that is fine and dandy, but Buck totes themselves as having one of the sharpest edges on the market, edge 2x,soooo,why not make sure its right on each and every knife out the door? After all, each one of those knives is supposed to be sold to someone who plans to use it,so make sure the edge is there when its time to use.pretty simple.

I've never gotten one that wouldn't at least shave the hair on my arm, and nearly effortlessly on almost all of them.
I have had a couple that the bevel from side to side was obviously different, but it still shaved.
I do however expect the knife to come sharp and ready to do the chore at hand! When it starts dulling then I'll tend to it.
Getting a new knife dull would be like buying a new truck with deflated tires.

Again even in the best of circumstances there's going to be a 10% margin of bad products, It pays to see merchandise before you buy it and if you don't and get it online its BUYER BEWARE. There was a time no body bought online for this exact reason. Now online is the only way to get allot of things and people aren't happy, but we did it to ourselves by buying online.
The www is the only way I can buy a new buck knife in Oz.. A standard 2012 110 in the store here retails for $225. I have paid this much and would again. I have never received a knife with a bad edge from the USA Buck factory...just quality, bulletproof knives.

Buck has a long held tradition of having some of the very best factory edges in the knife business.I've never got one that wasn't sharp from the factory but being as they are sharpened by hand there is always the factor of human error.

In all of my years I have zero complaints about Buck Knives, I only wish I could say the same for other manufacturers.

Well, it looks like I might have been part of the minority of people that have had issues with their Buck edges. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

So, it seems my foot is planted firmly in my mouth now. Yesterday I got back a few knives that I'd sent in for a little touch up, and I'm quite impressed. I sent in a 105, 301, and 703, and they all came back nice and sharp. I have to say, under magnification they don't look like much, but in use, they slice like crazy. When I used the 105 to try slicing a little paper, I actually said "Holy sh*&!". It was the kind of sharp that gives me a nauseous feeling in my stomach, because I know it'll hurt if I slip with it. So my faith in Buck is restored, though I'm not sure it ever really faltered that much.
