Bucks made in USA

I suppose it would be nice to see those slipjoints made in the US, but only if quality can be kept up. I now own three Chinese Buck slipjoints, they're flawless, and frankly, a little bit nicer than the two US made versions I was able to compare them with.

How are some of Bucks heat treatment on their knives, has there been any quality control issues? Also, since it was stated about Hershey, what is the latest about the old news that Hershey was going to move production out of Hershey PA to an overseas plant? That was about 2 or 3 years ago since I heard that when we went on vacation to PA.

Buck uses the Paul Bose heat treating method which is one of the best.

Thats one of the main reasons Buck is making the move.Is that many desire USA made products.DM

I read an article and Chuck Buck said he has gotten numerous letters from consumers stating that they didnt like to see made in China on their knives, so he decided to produce more here in the USA. unfortunately I don't have the link to the article.

We are in the process of producing the new Chairman's Series of 301, 303, 305 and 309 that have a hidden spring rivet, inlays of cherrywood Dyamond wood, are VERY rounded and contoured (they look and feel great) and has Chuck's signature lasered into the wood inlay

These sound great! Can't wait to see them.

I have a Buck vantage in 420 hc steel, I really like this knife! I may even opt for the one with 30sv steel, there is one for a great price at cutlery shoppe for about $40.

Thats where I got mine and its the best price I've seen-even with shipping a little high its still $2 cheaper than any buy-it now I've seen. They shipped pretty quick even though I ordered late Friday night.

300, nice sheath and thanks for posting that shot of the Chariman knives, the large stockman may just tempt me in that color and with the sig. Did you make that sheath yourself? It's pretty cool.
