Bud K Jungle Bowie--From amazon

That Marbles knife is made by Condor from El Salvador and alot of styles and handles, so go check out their line at Condor tool and Knife, you will like the prices I guarantee it. Read about comments up and down this forum about the Golok and the machetes. I personally like the Hudson bay when it comes out.

Got it!

[DarthVader]Impressive[/DarthVader], but definitely more knife than Machete .

Out of the box paper slicing-sharp, Sheath with embroidered logo, Orange color is loud 'safety orange' not dull

A bit of a (OUCH! sharp) burr, handle needs a little TLC. :thumbdn:

At $14.95 for knife, sheath and stone, I would say it's a ridiculously good value!

Marble's Jungle Bowie, Tramontina (Brasil) Sugar Cane Machete, No name Small Machete, Collins Nicholson (Colombia) 24" Pulido

BTW, that's not rust, it's a patina. Really.0

Like I said I got lots of good use out of my bud k jungle bowie and it's still holding up well i understand it's limitations but it's still a decent knife for the price

I have tested out in backyard, it does very well. Holds up edge, can do some bush crafting and the bottom of the handle can easily be used as hammer. The saw can be used in bushcrafting and making precise cuts though won't cut anything over 2 inches unless you are willing to spend lot of energy.

On memorial day weekend i am taking this guy out to some workout in the wild.

It would be great if you could post a separate Review-titled thread and detail your experiences.

I think your report may surprise some forumites.

I just bought this item...

can someone give me feedback on how it performs...
especially in terms of chopping and batoning.
Reviews on amazon were OK, but I thought it would be better if someone knows on the forums.

Seriously Maximus this is two trolling threads get a life!

Seriously Gear this is a discussion about cheap knives by people looking for an inexpensive way to learn about users. Not everybody was born to buy Busses.

The discussion itself has gone very well, on topic where it belongs, on the knives, not on the people. Please play nice.

I will try, sure. Let's hope it doesn't rain or friends don't ditch the plan (which has been on schedule for few weeks now :D)

Not to denigrate the big blades, but we have a current discussion of smaller bushcraft knives at Skookum bush tool for V Notching which highlights other uses than those in this thread.

Before you read the whole thread, check out Dannyboy Leather's post # 17 about smaller knives. When the land is large and the woods are hard, that saw and ax are better than big thin blades, and knife work is detail work: short sharp strong blades.

OrangeJoe,could you tell me what the blade thickness is,the info would be really appreciated, thanks.

Amazon doesn't have a good selection of knives. For every good knife on Amazon, there's 12-15 ones of questionable quality. Of the "good" knives on Amazon, decent prices can sometimes be found for Spydercos and Kershaws, but listings for other brand/models tend to be overpriced. Won't be surprised if I saw plenty of Benchmades on their site being sold over MSRP.

Disregard,I know you haven't received yours yet and I decided to get one while the gettin' was good, thanks anyway.

I bought a Hibben IV factory second from that guy... the blade's gotta be at least 61 Rockwell and it's supposedly '1060 high carbon'... ya, ok... wet and dry won't even touch it. It's definitely some kind of stainless steel, I can't get it to even patina. Marbles is good, check out the Condor Jungle Bowie II as well.

Got my jungle bowie,I like it,good wide champher, easy to touch up,heck of a good buy.

Word is the Marbles is bankrupt, hence the low prices at SMKW and other distributors.
Ya might wanna get one while the gettin's good!;)
